December

December was a fun month! We were invited to the school Christmas Carol service in our village.

Usually our Sundays are busy at home with people in and out most of the day. But December had several Sundays that our normal visitors had travelled or were sick. The boys begged to go to the dam fishing. Unfortunately, it rained the whole time we were there. We came home by the ocean and stopped to watch the storm move across the ocean.
Have I mentioned we love living near the ocean? So awe inspiring!

It was so special to be included in the Salt Staff Christmas party one last time.

These boys have so much fun together.

December was unusually wet. It wasn't like rainy season but it was more rain then normal for December.

While the children were on Christmas break we spent a day at the beach. It was such a refreshing day!

The boys went treasure hunting and found quite a few sand dollars.

This beach is still very undeveloped.

Road work on N1 continues between us and Accra and in our area they are just starting to push dirt and tell people that have houses and shops near the road that they need to move. It is going to get worse before it gets better but it will be very nice when it is done!

It was a privilege to have these friends over for supper. We went north for their wedding earlier in the year. It was a short evening of many stories about the persecuted church in Nigeria.

We stopped at Salt one Saturday and these little friends found us.

We had a mission staff (US and Ghanaian) Christmas Carol service.

The children and I baked gingerbread cookies for friends and neighbors. One woman told me they were too sweet with the white on top but when she scraped it off they were very nice!

Kelsey finished another comfort top. Sewing is still her hobby and this was a break from little dresses.

The missionary school children had a program at our Christmas service. I don't have more pictures from Christmas day but we had lunch and games in the afternoon.

A friend had twins and we went to visit.

And we welcomed the new year by watching fireworks over the ocean.
